Blanket Stitch

I want to talk about the blanket stitch, it is the stitch that I'm using while I make my penny rug. As you might guess, it is the stitch found on the satin edging of a blanket, and very easy to do. I drew the graphic for to mechanic to this embroidery, 3 easy steps and then repeat.....

Be aware and well informed, the blanket stitch uses twice the amount the plain running stitch would. Buy a lot of your colors! My bags are quart size.

Once done....it becomes a real asset to the piece.

Alright, I found my thread at a yard sale. C&G Design

  6. That looks really pretty. Embroidery is on my list of things I want to learn to do.

I got all of my yarn that I've been working with at either Goodwill or Salvation Army a few years ago. I'm sure I'll get through it all eventually, but isn't that just the best way to buy some of that stuff?

Tina, I tried to make the instruction easy, I should of photoed the back of the work, the stitch has a spoke like pattern on the back.

Cinj, Yes, that's the best way to buy these things, I almost don't shop for supplies anywhere else!
