And it did. I wanted arms and legs to assemble easy and they did. The only great debate I struggled with, and it stalled my progress, was what to use for stuffing. Wood shavings or rags. Sawdust was used with very early dolls, they were constructed with a leather torso , it's my belief that's why we have some of them today. I decided rags for weight.
A small plain-ish print for the yoked dress.
Hook and eye for the attachments, no Velcro on my dolls. They are also all hand stitched, signed and dated.
I decided on no embellishments, at this point she didn't appear to be the fancy kind.
I also found a set of bloomers to put on her. C&G Design.
Someday this doll will be quite the heirloom. You have done a wonderful job. I like the blue.

ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to see the finished product! I used to do cloth dolls and sell them in craft fairs, many years ago. Still have one of my favorites sitting on the guest bed. Wonder where the others are? Probably in my daughter's boxes in the basement!
