And a grasshopper it is! I was stuck between deciding on a bee or a grasshopper, the grasshopper won because I couldn't find a good bee graphic, wasps but no bee. My husband and niece had me give up on the ant.....
Anyway, it came out pretty good and easy peasy! The lines are so close together I basicly went around in a circle. Two more.....! C&G Design
I love these redworks! What type of embroidery thread do you use? Is it anything different than the regular ebroidery floss? I can't wait to see this all put together. What a fun project Dawn. I am with Leann....I've never heard of Goats Rue either and I enjoyed your history on it...interesting.:)
It looks good but when I first looked at it I thought oh that one looks like it would be hard to do, not easy peasy. Does that tell you how much I know about it?
Hi Dawn...thanks for your words of encouragemnet...ain't it great to have girlfriends! Like Debbie, I'd lke to know if you use regular old embroidery floss for this redwork. I have a pattern book with redwork desings, and by golly, I am going to dig it out, and I just may attempt this too. Might be just what I need. Thanks so much, hugs, Kathleen
Debbie and Kathleen, Yep, regular ole' 6 strand embroidery floss, I use only 3 strands though. And I know Debbie lives by a Marden's not sure if you do Kathleen but they have 210 meters, Madera (High priced) spools of 6 strand all colors for $1.49. I bought 2 red, but I could of picked up many more!It was about 1 1/2 week ago.
I love the vintage look to your work! I'm still making my Pink Saturday rounds, only about 100 more to go:)
ReplyDeleteLove the Goats Rue - never heard of it before - very pink!
Enjoy your Sunday!
