Well, my sisters and I choose to wait on the upper step of the stairs, whether we were at my grandmother's or not...that's what we did. We had donuts and orange juice passed up to us that I don't believe we COULD ever really taste! We were just to excited and occasionally we would try to peek through the banister. Did I mention we were allowed to stay in our pajamas?
I think myself and my sisters remember the waiting this until this very day, it made the frenzy of opening gifts that Christmas morning even better.
The pretty roses are from my daughter's ballet last weekend, we always give her the usual flowers as every performer gets during their encore.

On this first Saturday of December ♥Jappy Pink Saturday♥. I was away for a while and sure missed running around the blogs arnd seeing all of the goodies everyone was sharing.
Thanks for the memory...
It was a blessing for you to make my morning so much fun. Hoping that you and those you care about spend a wonderful weekend making memories that will last a lifetime☺
Now does that sound mean? After all these years it kinda sounds mean to me but back then it did not. Do you know why we did it that way? Well to try and get some food into you before the big day started. Usually Nana and Baba got Dunkin Doughnuts for you guys.
BTW....Nana and Baba did the same to your uncle and I when we were kids. Now days I think most people wrap things. Back then, we did not. Everything was just put on "display" for all to see.
Oh I love those xmas memories and I miss my own. Christmas eve was big at my house. We all got to open ONE present before we went to midnight mass and we also had a traditional french dish made by my mother. We called it potte' prounouned "pawtay" or as we said when really little "potty!". It got confusing..."no mom, I don't have to go potty, I want some potty!" I am still not sure of the correct spelling today! It was a meat pie and was handed down by my grandparents from Prince Edward Island. It had beef and pork and onions and spices and was encased in a pie dough and delish! Thanks for jarring that memory Dawn! There is nothing like a childhood memory at Christmas time. Awe...I think I'm going to cry!

Josh will be in for a treat!
