Ah, the first Saturday of 2010, it seems like yesterday we were worrying about the millennium, how time flies.
Anyway, my choice for this Saturday is to post about my newest acquisition, this 4 inch pot with lid. My formal room has a Japanese theme so I'm always on the lookout for anything oriental, I even have brass Japanese insignias on the wall that I use as hotplates!
This little pot is cute though but I'm not real sure what it is, a ginger jar? A tea or Saki pot? I'm not sure . It is marked Japan on the bottom.

Beautiful little pot.. I love japanese anything.. I would love to see the formal room sometime to see what you've done.. have a great day and enjoy all the snow we are getting!! happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI love your little pot. I love asian designs. I, too, would love to see your formal room....my house is too small for that. I guess we are supposed to really get it with this storm. Hunker down, and let's see how much we get. Have a warm day, Hugs, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteis a very pretty little pot but I also have no idea what it is. Is it too big to be a sugar bowl?
ReplyDeleteYup, a good day to stay under the shingles here in New England!! Sandra came and got Josh yesterday and they all made a snowman with the little snow we had. I think they will have more than enough snow before the weekend is over.
Happy Pink Saturday Dawn...
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful is this pot. I just love it. The colors are just exquisite.
I would love to see the formal room that it sits in. You must take pics and share with us one of these days.
Stop on over and say hi. I am having a give away and I would love to have you sign up.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
My mom would love that pot!! It seems that because of the handle on each side it is meant to drink something hot ... kinda like a big latte cup but with handles??? I love the etching/painting ... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and Happy Pink Saturday!
Oooo, It's a beautiful little pot, the colors are just gorgeous. Happy Pink Saturday..have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty...love the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from our house to your house. I do not know what this pot was used for. I assume soup; but then who knows. Not me! Lovely find.

Happy Pink Saturday and Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to have quite a collection of this pattern. The pattern is Geisha Girl, and I can't tell the size of your piece, but I am fairly certain it is a sugar bowl. Is it a size that would equate to a sugar bowl?
