I cut my canvas to size and set it outside to be primed. This is a careful stage of the cloth, to much of the wrong kind of priming paint and everything will crack. Some artisans use the poly acrylic first but I did the priming lightly with exterior spray primer, both sides.
I decided the largest frame would be the one to go for as a stabilizer. You don't need to stretch the canvas while stapling it on, in fact it will shrink with the priming and painting.
I had to adjust the left side, the side I started with, because I wasn't happy with it, I noticed the "waves" right after I took this photo.
Tools of the trade.....I so wanted a brayer and I finally got one! It was expensive but well needed, I'm sure. The artist tray is perfect size and the paint won't have much choice but to stay put.
I used 2 stamps and a sponge, I had a bit of trouble with the sponge. Not only did the sponge expand bigger than I planned on.....but I tried to load it with straight paint, a no-no. You can see how dark the blue is in the lower right corner. I caught on once the sponge filled up and the square diluted with water look much better.

You're going to paint it white again and start over? How big is this cloth and what is it made of? Do you put it on the floor when done? This one has me confused for some reason....I think because I am just not familiar with the process. My goodness you take on so many new projects....I admire that...you are not afraid to try new things!
Is there a cute little one with red yarn hair going in the middle? I never was very good at guessing games but the red and blue colors make me thing of the raggedys.
Ok, I have not fallen off the edge of the earth. I am just so unfocused these days. I am looking forward to getting together...some girl chat will really be nice. Your daughter looks amazing in her red dress. I like this project...but can't imagine what you will do next....Hugs, Kathleen

Not too sure but it looks like a Raggedy Ann & Andy cloth to be hung in their favorite room. Or a scatter rug for their room. Gosh, can't imagine.
