Anyway, we made it to my mother's home for the fourth of July. My husband set the fireworks off and they were wonderful this year. It's hard to tell what will work best for a show and what will be very fiery, but he did them justice.
I finally got the chance to pick up the packages Lola sent home from Florida with my mother when she made a trip down there in April. Such nice stuff Lola sent and such a nice lady. Look at the holiday fabric and 2 Christmas door panels, a large card holder and a ole' fashioned Santa pillow. I love the polar bear with the Santa, so old world.
These homespun fabrics are to die for. I was saying " look.....look.." to my husband as I was unpacking them. He teases me about the fondness I have for fabric.
Many blues too. You can't have too many blues, you can do so much with them.
This is the first photo I took of the fireworks and wow! I came out soooo good. The others didn't do so well.
There is more that Lola sent but it will "be continued" tomorrow.
Thank-you, Lola! C&G Design

You are so welcome Dawn.
ReplyDeleteWow, love the pic of the fireworks. It's gorgeous. I didn't get to see any "works" this yr. I did hear them around in the neighborhood.
Love your fireworks photo too!!! Stay cool, it's hotter where you are than it is here.

Lola is such a nice lady!! How lucky are you Dawn!!! My favorite are those homespun fabrics and I wish I had some! I want to start making a quilt but really don't have any good fabric right now. I will probably find some at yard sales maybe. Where did you travel to see your mom? Hubby and fireworks? How cool! Where does Lola live? Inquiring minds need to know!
ReplyDeleteYup, as always, JOAT's did a GREAT JOB setting off the fire works for an hour and carting em all out to the staging area. This year he had the extra heat to deal with. I think everyone had a good time. I am sure the kids did in the pool all day.
ReplyDeleteLola has given you a lotta good stuff for sure and I was so happy to meet her had have a few hours of fun time with her.
I want to see some photos of everyone having a blast! Though the fireworks photo came out wonderfully. Very hard to get those night fireworks photos due to the movement. Lola is a sweetie indeed! You must make her something very very special with the fabric to thank her as that is quite a gift. Hope all had a great 4th! I'm behind as always but will eventually catch up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful 4th of July! Sorry about the heat as in VA, we slept with the windows open on our first nights visit but that changed quickly as the heat set in on us two days later...
