Temari Ball, #2, Part 1

It took me a little bit to decide on what kind of Temari ball to make next, I have so many large spools of 2 ply wool yarn and quart size bags of embroidery thread (primary colors). So I came up with a ornament my mother-in-law made me many moons ago, the pattern looked simple and although she used variegated thread, I though a gradual fade to a predominate color would work well.

My north, south pole along with the equator is made from the matching background.

I wasn't really impressed with the anchoring method I used and it took me a while to get the hang of it.

Once I made my second geometric design, I realize this pattern would take me some time to do.

I had to remove the start of one diamond as I had the wrong yarn pole.
