Tool guessing

I have another tool that is indispensable in the world of craft making, especially if you like to work with dolls, but not exclusive to them either.


It almost looks as if it is a piercing tool, as a matter fact we told Madame we were going to get her tongue with it...perhaps to enhance her talking, no just kidding.

Bathroom Pinks

It's amazing the pink around us. A cool shade of red, a tinted white....in nature, in life, and in love. Pink is the color of warmth, it inspires artists of all genres, it moves us to happiness. This week I'm giving a look into my bathroom, for you to see what I see every morning, dappled sun with a subtle hue, a slight awakening, a better way to start the day.

Room to Spare

My favorite room in the dollhouse is the one that houses these items, of course!
The sewing machine, spinning wheel and dressmaker, stands at the top of the stairs, you can see them behind the spinning wheel.
Every seamstress can take a oath to the idea.....her tools of the trade will go anywhere as long as they function. I've had machines in the hallways before!

Maybe draping the dressmaker and machine with fabric will make it look more realistic. How cool for the tiny world of dolls. C & G Design

Creative Blogging

Gee, I'd hoped this serendipity visit would of taken place before Halloween but it didn't happen until the other day. You know, those blogs that are so cute you can't resist, yep. Found one, the owner is a mixed media doll maker. She knows her stuff, clearly a natural creator in the world of goblins!


When I say mixed media, I'm talking about clay with cloth, paper mache with wire, etc. But...but! Her blog is truly different, you see.... the dolls she creates, goblins, ghouls, and trolls are the profilers, they are the commenter responders, so cute!

Her goblins are sold on EBay, they are members of the Fairy Society and OOAK (One Of A Kind) Art Dolls, both being social networking pages to buy or sell your wares. To visit the topic blogger click here.

Collectibles-Raggedy Ann and Andy

I found another price book for Raggedy Ann and Andy, I thought some of my manuals were missing, I'm glad I located it. I'm posting some individual art/crafty picture art of the pair.

I like the pair of pillows, I'll bet this project took some time and it's not a kit.

This is my favorite, an oil on canvas painting expressing the calmness of a toy room. Did you see the dog? Wonder if this is Arthur? Too cute.

I can picture or admire Marcella holding her most beloved, precious doll, Ann.

Update: A couple of weeks ago I posted on my plaque of Ann.....I discovered it in this price book. She is a pair to Andy, of course!

The Best of the West

Yesterday, I posted on Johnny West and his family. Today, I'll post on the ranch inhabitants. All of this collection in marked MARX which is the manufacturer of Johnny West, patent and some number code above the circle Marx is in. Near as I came figure the code is for the place and mold number. No year made mark.

I love the horses, especially the brown and black one. They are Comanche horses, those with move able parts. You won't find these today and mine are in great shape, they are hinged at the hoof, knee and hip. The heads are also hinged and can be moved up and down. I believe the black horse to be Thunderbolt , the middle horse is Pancho Palomino, which was also released in red.

These aren't part of the series but I thought it would be nice to show as content of the trunk. Looks as if the tan horse in the front has seen better pastures, he has a broken leg. I'm sure a little boy got hours of fun out of these. Also in the trunk was a ceramic pair of horse bookends with some one's initials. Palamino (my childhood favorite)painted and with out a chip. Hummmm....

These stately horses are from the issue of the Noble Knight and Mighty Viking series. All of those held their heads up. The two reds are duplicates with the name of Bravo, couldn't find the brown horses name, neither here or in the Comanche series, only referred to a buckskin. The tan one in the Comanche is called cream Comanche. All of these Knight horses have small wheels inlaid in their hooves. That seems to make it easy to pull the stagecoaches!

The pinto is named Storm Cloud, the Pancho palamino again, and a misc Clydesdale, which is too cute!

Some confusion about these horses as a few collectors cite this horse as Thunderbolt due to the flame on the nose, white chest and hooves.

That completes the content of the old trunk. The Johnny West play sets were issued in the 1950's and apparently collectible today. As much action figures I've seen in all the years I've been researching dolls, I've never heard of these. I still believe it's based on John Wayne and it congers up a much simpler time.

Ever hear of Johnny West?


This is a partial reveal of the trunk treasures.


Mr West was a action figure of the 1950's. I think he looks John Wayneish. He has all his doo- dads.





Johnny West has a ranch where he and his family live. The composition of these figures are very heavy and study made. They came with a mismatch of other items and the nearest I can tell from the Internet, at least one accessory to person.

Each figure has a current price of $175.00 to $350.00, IF they had all their accessories. It's pretty simple, items are sold separately on EBay and latest check has about 10 pages worth of bidding.
