Too Sweet!
Another talented handcrafter made this beautiful bracelet with the tender loving care only Raggedy Ann can appreciate.

Sculpey Tags
I love this stuff. This is a wonderful media, it's very forgiving and lots of doll maker create beautiful realistic characters with Polymer clay.
It's expensive but well worth the cost. It comes in many different colors which works well with jewelry makers, easy to make blended canes (like candy canes), then slice! 1,2 and 3, soften, mold and then bake, fortunately the softening stage is applied with the heat from hand kneading. It comes in the brick form pictured below, the rounded canes can be pulled from one another but I like to cut my own, somehow it gives me to accurate picture of how much I have left.
Bake at a low temp for 15 minutes for each 1/4 inch thickness. If you have a item more than 1/2 inch thick, you may want to "beef" it with aluminum foil. I do this with doll heads.
Off to the oven, but before I go.....I wanted to show you my "reject" example. For some reason I have a notion in my head that free form or abstract art is better, I'm telling the world......I am no good at it.
I reused this copper and cut down on my babbles, no button, coins or pearls. Plain Jane. C&G Design.

Tiny Sculpture
Since I've recently sculpture a paper mache doll, and I'm not pleased with the results (they're o.k.), I thought I'd show you a tiny little infant I made from sculpey.
She is signed and dated by me (on her bottom!) I made her when my daughter was about six months old.
My original intention was to make her in five pieces, head/torso, 2 arms and 2 legs, then plaster cast her into a mold. I was having so much fun experimenting I made her in one piece. This is my first time at using sculpey or polymer clay, it's hardened in the oven, my infant is made with bead eyes and I was slightly concerned about those melting. Sculpey is baked at 130 degrees, 15 minutes for every 1/4 thickness, so the beads made it with out a issue. She is coated with a varnish that has aged to yellow spots. (I've since found the there is a glossy varnish made for sculpey)
I used a old strainer for her hair and a washcloth for the texture on the bow. She is so sweet, she reminds me of Madame when she was a baby even though they look nothing alike!
