This is something different....I found a nice tutorial at Craftsanity, she refers to them as "Dragon Boats" although nothing is available about the history on them. They are so simple as a piece of card stock.
Some folding and some tape....
And a special way of winding embroidery thread. I started mine a little different then what the tutorial showed. She had the hanger and bottom tassel already placed but since this is my first....I'm starting without them.
I had to unwind my first attempt because I started upside down and couldn't turn the boat counter clock wise like directed.The color changing went smooth so hold on for the finished ornament! C&G Design

Wow, you do have a lotta patience! I could never be that patient. Can't wait to see it finished.
Christy called from Ireland at 4:15 this morning but we had already left for Bangor. When we did not answer she called Terri-Lynn and she called us. Christy told her they were pretty sure coming to Bangor. Was not to be. We are back home and still have not heard from her and they are susposed to be at Ft. Campbell in a half hour. The troop gretters at Bangor told us the only had outgoing planes till tomorrow so we watched one group come in from Washington and left.
That looks like fun. Another tree ornament in progress. Can't wait to see it finished.
