Rugmaking

My whole intention was to post about my veggie garden today but, since it rained yesterday we are stuck with another dollhouse item. This is supposed to be a checkbook cover but I think it makes the perfect dollhouse rug. I wish the kit came with a graph of the pattern but it only has the pre-printed canvas and a few tips on how to needlepoint.

Apparently someone had the same idea about it being a rug.
I purchased this kit in a box lot of dollhouse stuff.

Doll house Update

It's time to show the new decor of the dollhouse again, here we see the nursery. It is the bedroom on the second floor, right. Just above the master bedroom.

So much better, I love the furnishings especially the couch and chair. The wrought iron bed isn't bad either. If I find some more miniatures I'm not sure where they will go, my dollhouse is running out of room (just like my real house)! And the pets are getting out of hand (just like my real house)!

The next room is the one I'm most proud of, it is the kitchen, heart of the house....


Gone is the refrigerator and small stove. They are replaced with a fancy set of wood ones that match the cabinets, it also has yellow formica topping!

Dollhouse Update

I have ten things going at once, but I'm getting there, slowly but surely! I unveiled a box of dollhouse furniture the other day, yes! From cleaning out my 3rd floor, whew!
This is what the then master bedroom looked like.


Here is what it contains now....I love the brass beds, they are so cute! And for now this room has a little white iron like bed.

The next room is the lower right room, it was a big bathroom at the time but that is now moved to the top of the stairs, I'll have to figure a curtain or wall for privacy sometime in the future. The bathroom in this small area really makes more sense
and this room is now the master. And what a nice one it is!

Ignore the cobweb at the ceiling, it's a realistic touch I thought I'd keep in the photo, probably if I looked closely I'd find a few in my bedroom!

Another brass bed only this one is a full size.

I purchased a big bag full of this stuff at Goodwill years ago. Can you believe it had "NO RETURN" on the price tag!?! A few of the furnishings had legs unglued or knobs missing but that's not a problem for me. Especially with furniture as fancy as these.

Check out the orange organ in the far corner, it even has foot petals! You can't really tell but it has a key cover and when it's open it exposes the music as the sheets are glued to the underside.

Early Season

Last night it was in the low 30's and high 20's for a outside temperature, seems like winter is arriving rather quickly.
On Tuesday, snow fell about 30 miles from me and today it is predicted to fall even closer and more wide spread.
Summer consisted of two weeks with hot weather but mostly 2 months of heavy rainfall, what happened to summer?
This is picture of a potbelly stove in the dollhouse, I thought it was rather fitting to the seasonal changes, Maine can be brutal in the winters so nothing is better than sitting next to a wood stove. I miss it. I remember fondly of those days when I babysat and spent a cozy time with the kids next to the raging wood stove.

What's for a Dollhouse Dinner?

It's been awhile since I've done a post on my dollhouse and the above photo was lifted from the initial introduction to my dollhouse kitchen, bare looking...I know.

But I keep finding more and more little items I've collected along the way, recently I discovered this little box of canned goods. It HAS got me thinking about how to plan and construct cupboards in my palatial dwelling. $.39 for this "plastic pantry" and all the food is really cute!

So "What's for a dollhouse dinner?" Why....soda, homemade rising bread, peas and cheeseburger steaks with fruit cocktail.

The Adams Family Dollhouse

Here is the last of my friend's dollhouses and this is my favorite one! The Aadam's Fammily, snap! snap! Specialized dollhouses are not as common as dollhouse families.

I think this one is beautiful, the outside is captured to a "T".

Truly wonderful. Residing at 0001 Cemetery lane, and later at 1313 Cemetery Lane, next to a swamp.

Wednesday and Pugsly. Wednesday was always trying to do in Pugsly, but he didn't seem to notice. Poor Wednesday, full of woe.

Did you know this family was invented by a cartoonist and first ran in the new york Sunday paper? Cartoonist Charles Adams who collaborated with his friend Ray Bradbury? What? A classic sci-fi writer, Fahrenheit 451, etc., that we all were made to read in school! How come they never told us?

The Forgotten Room

Oops, I forgot to add this room in Victorian House, posted yesterday. Not!

The dollhouse creator paid $35.00 for this little Raggedy Ann over seas, she is about 1 inch tall.

Geez, needed to come a see me.

Victorian Dollhouse

This is the second post on my friend's dollhouses. This one is Victorian. The gazebo like corner opens up to expose a few rooms,

ONE of the maids in the dining room.

The mistress in the sitting room. All the wallpaper is period and very nice! I love they way all these houses look, but I have the best for last!

Who wouldn't want a balcony like this one?

The twins are on the downstairs porch while the grounds keeper is working hard. BTW, the lawn mower really works!

It's a perfect place that stays perfect, everything is thought of, and very beautiful.

My new camera captured some of the fine, small nuances, and did it very clear. *Sigh* I'll have to get use to another one after figuring out the one I have. (It took me a year)

I can not even begin to put a value on this dollhouse, time could never be considered.
