Who's that girl?

I recently purchased this lovely lady from a second hand store, she was placed in the toy section but IS NOT a toy.

I don't know who she is, but she's part of my collection.
She is in prestine shape and I fell in love with her. Who is she?

Captivating blue eyes with one stroke brows and she has brown eyeshadow which I find unusual. She was sold to me in a plastic bag, her wig and hat were removed and placed in the bag with her. I kept wondering why the stock person didn't place the joined wig and hat back on her head, she might of looked better. I had to really squeeze her face to help her with her doo and I was petrified of popping those deep blues! The head is soft vinyl, she has sleep eyes and the body is hard plastic. She does have a hollow in her back for a small music button and I'm looking for a Ava Maria. I believe she is religious but I'm not sure. Absolutely no markings on body or head.

Her clothing are of good quality and do not appear to be home made, she has a mustard colored print on the center panel of her dress and hat. The rest of the mustard color is applique' trim with light blue rick rack stitched under it, sleeves are intact lace. Her petticoat is of a stiff yellow felt and her pantaloons are muslin with binding machine stitch in red. Red vinyl boot lets with knit stockings.

The banner is permanently attached and is the only symbol of origin, looks Russian.

When we lived in Germany, we would shop at the American Army PX (Post Exchange)They sold dolls from different countries and this one looks like one of those dolls. And yes, I am guessing Russian...

Hi Mom, Hi Skeeter! She is cute huh? I'm glad you told me that Skeeter, so bought overseas and more of a souvnier doll than religious? Maybe I'll change my idea of the music botton! Something more peppy.

She is sooo cute! I love dolls. My fiance bought me a doll for Christmas because she looked like me as a baby. So I love dolls. :-D I never outgrew it.

Tina, I do believe very much she is russian, too many k like letters in the banner. I've never seen anything like her, I date her to the seventies. Russia is known for the nesting doll.
dp, I find dolls represent a warm feeling to any who pay attention. Thanks for sharing your Christmas gift with us.

Oh, lucky you, so lucky...I have a set of blank wooden nesting but my talent doesn't match the russian doll.
