Moving On...

Well, we made it through another school year and next year I won't have a child in elementary school. It's been 12 years that I have been visiting the primary grades, k-6 two times for 2 kids. My son's graduating class gifted the school team benches for the gym, Madame's class gifted new dugout benches with their hand print/names wood burned into it. They came out wonderful!

The balloon drop was a great success at the moving on ceremony. I guess one other class tried this and it got stuck, the sixth grade teacher had to pull it. Our balloon drop was on the basketball hoop and it all came down like the dams opening on a river, too cool.

I'm not sure how I managed this shot! All the students were announced by alphabetical order and they marched through the balloon arch up to the stage.

Madame said her most favorite memory and then ended her piece by saying...."goodbye _____school, I will miss you."

It is such a milestone in kids lives to leave behind school. They just don't always know it at this stage.

She is such a sweet girl Dawn...you did a fantastic job with her. Does she have makeup on? Too cute...and the dress AND the shawl look wonderful by the way!! I miss that time in my kids lives. It's an innocent time that will never come again, except through our grandchildren some day maybe! Tell Madame congrats for me!! She is so photogenic that girl!

It does go so quickly. Your daughter looks beautiful, as does her shawl. I hope you are loving it now, too. That is just perfect!

I'm all caught up and can't wait to see the room. Now that you have all this space, I think you should grab a fellow crafter and drive over for my yard sale on the 4th weekend. I have lots of things to go...stuffing, trims, bead boards, oh, name a craft and I probably have it.

Great job on the shawl, the room, and kids!
