Raggedy Ann Finally Makes It
Dateline 03/30/02
It's taken five times, but it finally happened. Raggedy Ann fans around the world were taking it very persona that she was not in the National Hall Of Fame. Last year Tonka and Silly Putty were the only inductees--yes, they belong in the Hall Of Fame, but certainly not any more than Raggedy does.
Last year's denial was the final straw and Raggedy Ann lovers around the world decided to take things in their own hands, advertising her poor plight. Apparently it worked as thousands of petitions, letters and signatures deluged the selection committee over the past year. There were over 90 nominees trying to win the coveted spot, but only two were lucky enough to make it.
On March 27, 2002, The National Toy Hall Of Fame announced that Raggedy Ann and the Jigsaw Puzzle were the inductees for 2002.

Cute, very cute. Raggedy Ann and all these toys are such a part of Americana that it only stands to reason they have a National Hall of Fame for them.
5 times? OMG....UNREAL!!!!! What is the matter with those people, I woulda voted for them on the first time.
Raggedy Ann is an icon; She should have been in the Hall of Fame years ago! I played with those Tonka Trucks of my brothers in the dirt. He still has them today and waxes them occasionally to keep them shiny. Where does one find the Toy Hall of Fame? I would like to see if some other of my favorites are in there. Never mind, I will google it…
Hey, Andy was inducted in 2007. I hope I did not mess up a future posting for you... Here is the sight to see all the inductees...

A stick and cardboard box made it the Hall of Fame. How funny is that….

Oh my goodness, Atari didn't make it until 07 either.
I'm surprised the association is only 10 years old!
Raggedy Ann and Andy definitely deserve to be in the Hall of Fame!!!
