About U

Everyone knows about.... About.com and if they don't, they have lived under a rock somewhere. It's a collective dot com that has many contributors on many different subjects and a place where I find helpful information.

I'm not sure everyone knows about....About U though. It's part of About.com only About U offers free online classes. Everything from health to computers to hobbies and gardening. I'm taking a 6 week class of Macrame, I've never learned this art but I have always had a desire to do so. I just picked up the materials I need to get going, check out the stuff on the far right. They are glass, swirly, imitation, shell pieces and they were only 50 cent per package. I regret I didn't buy all they had but maybe a trip back this week will enhance my supply.

I have never heard of About U, but the other one for sure. Great you are learning macrame! I love the plant hangers and pick them up at flea markets. They are quite pricey in stores. This is a good skill to learn I think, but doesn't it say 70s to you?

We learned Macrame in Art class while in middle school! I made plant hangers. I wonder if I still know how to do that today? Hum, so long ago...

Okay, you must let me in on this mystery as well....

What is Fairy Day???

I love macrame and I guess everyone knows about the plant hangers but there is so much more to be done with it. In the park in Florida where Nana and Baba used to go, the folks used to make lawn chairs. Very pretty and strong.

Tina and Dawn, Barbara is treating Jessie for liver and heart problems. She has lost a lot of weight in the last month. She can't have anymore dog food, just baby food and broth or homemade stew with lean hanburg. In the last month Barbara has tried a couple of other things and now we are down to a decision on Thursday after a couple of days of this food.

Skeeter, were you reading Frances last year at Fairy Day? It was quite a build up. If you did not read it, you should go back and read it. I think you will find it worth your time.

Mom, That is very sad news for poor ole Jessie girl. Best wishes for her and for you and David too.

I have never learned to do marcame. Of course, I've been living under a boulder, cause I have never heard of About., or U. (LOL) That's what I love about blogging so much. Meeting wonderful people and learning about new things. Frezzing cold here today...have you seen spring yet? Hugs, Kathleen

Hi guys,
Yes Tina, it does seem seventish but only in the large abstract art. The "surfer" chokers of today are macrame and the earrings are pretty mordern.
Skeeter, Fariy day is set aside to celebrate the magic of fairies, tink, cupid and the toothfairy included! All beleivers are encouraged to show support.
Mom, sorry about Jessie, we all knew her weight wouldn't help in the long run. Just thinking of her mistaking any object tossed up as a snack makes me smile. She's happiest with eating, hope it goes o.k. My dog has changed too, it's daily. More large tumors within the last month and I'm quite sure at this point, it's lymphoma. Sometimes whimpers when on the stairs, warmer weather can't come soon enough.
Kathleen and Lola, you two are funny! Check it out, they have alot going on.

No Dawn, she will not be ok. She is not eating. Barbara does not want her to lose anymore weight but does not want her to have dog food because of the fat content as the fat will upset the liver and stomach. Wants her to have homemade hamburg stew, baby food and broth. She has had all 3 today and of it all, she took 2 licks of the broth.

I mean like Tina said....okay for her, you and David. Jesse has suffered from compressed organs for awhile, age has caught up? Sad to know she doesn't feel well enough to eat more, she must know. Tar has the odor of...you know what, and he knows.

Thanks for the link. I do know About.com but I didn't know this page. Have fun with the macrame.

Jean, Sorry to hear about Jessie. I know this must be a difficult thing to go through. My parents lost a cat just before Christmas due to him stop eating. The Vet’s tried everything in their power to get him to eat. They finally had to install a feeding tube and I was against it but in time, (6 weeks) he did start eating again but he lost so much nutrition that he ended up with other issues after the feeding tube was removed. So he went over the Rainbow Bridge a few months later.

Of course I read the fun Fairy Tales of Frances. That was about the time I started to read her regularly. I had forgotten that was spring time… Duh on my part…
