Death to the Ice Jams

Maine, New England for that matter, it not a place for tornado's, but when your half asleep and a chunk of ice (one piece) falls from a steep roof at 4:30 am, in the dark, on daylight savings change, one could think......or at least wake up hubby and tell him the house was struck by lighting.
Miracle, since it wasn't raining anymore. C&G Design

Good Morning Dawn! I have a metal roof, and it too, is steep. I have had snow and ice come crashing down and scare the "you know what" out of me. It is terrifying, because even though you know what it is within a few seconds, the first reaction is earthquake? A truck hit the house? What is that? I can't believe only 10 days till spring. My brother in Saco got 5 inches of snow. Not a flake to be seen here in Millinocket. God is good. Have a great day, Hugs, Kathleen

Those darned ice jams are giving you fits aren't they? I hope they go away soon. Supposed to be pushing 80 here today:))

Hi guys, yes the ice jams are giving me fits this year, can't wait until it's gone.
We got 2 inches yesterday but I think my mother got more snow, she is on the coast like your brother Kathleen. Uncommon for them to get it and not us!

Your husband slept through the noise? We hear a lot of loud "pops" around here and I used to panick thinking it was the siding on the house snapping/cracking due to the cold temperatures. There is a blizzard in our forecast for later on today, so I am off to the store for provisions!!

Yup, scarey wake up time. Like last year on the Patriots Day storm when our trampoline landed on the roof right over where I WAS sound asleep.

We actually only had a few snow showers here, not even a dusting. However, what snow was here is down to only a couple of inches so we will probably get it in the next storm....tonight, tomorrow.

You people are making me cold. It was 84 degrees here yesterday and calling for more of the same today! Spring is in Georgia...

I guess you must be careful to not have planters too close to the house or the ice would destroy them!

Hi mom, went to your big town today, it was last minute from calling the eye dr yesterday. You know Babe has to have contacts to be a catcher! Not hardly any snow down there!
Skeeter, I want to plant something that dies down like astibile, but ya! JOAT's use to park there! No more.
