Tags and Boxes

Tagging and markings are very important in identifying any antique, unfortunately we don't always have the benefit of a hanging tag or mold marks.
Here are a few important ones to the world of Ann and Andy.

Georgine Novelties Inc., had body tags that when first produced had, a blue color for Andy and red for Ann.....very hard to find indeed.
Reliable Toy Co. had the same tagging.

If your Ann had a smidgen of torn tag could it be Georgine? Valued higher than Reliable?

In this case.....Reliable stitched all the seams on the outside, Georgine's are on the inside. A slight difference but a big gap in age.
Here is the end cap of a Georgine box, she also included a hang tag on the dolls themselves.
Knickerbocker adapted a similar box.......

Upon looking closer....it was copyrighted by Myrtle Gruelle. How nice for Ann..... C&G Design.
