First Snow

We got it, the first snow of the year, I figured it would not stick....nah! It's too warm, just look at my backyard facing the garden. Do you see my husbands footprints? It's always so beautiful when it first comes down especially in giant flakes as it was last night.
Again, if you look closely you'll find my big, black Maine coon cat under the table. This photo is of the second time he went out, he also stayed under the table the first time! No....it's not a figment nor will it melt that quickly.
My husband said this photo looks like stars but you can see the upright tree to the left of the photo, unfortunately it started snowing right at dark, still very pretty.

A winter wonder......

Yes, Sophia there is the white stuff.....my Siamese has been to smart to even ask to go out! Should be interesting to watch her, she won't even walk on the newspaper laid in the garden, I can't imagine her cold tootsies!

Funny. Cause when I got up the temp was above freezing so I thought, Oh good, the snow will not last, it will be gone in a couple of hours". Wrong!!!! It is still there and I think we got a couple of inches. It does not look like you got that much. That is unusual since you most always get more than us. It is pretty when it is fresh and clean. Your Baba used to say, "It is pretty on a post card".

Ohhh Dawn, your pictures are just gorgeous. I agree with your husband..it looks like stars. You've done a wonderful job of capturing the snowflakes.

It is SO pretty on a postcard. Okay, for a couple of minutes this morning, I was looking out the window, and "pretty" did cross my mind. I believe snow looks much nicer in YOUR yard! :-)

I loved your snow pics Dawn. I'm from Minnesota, living in Florida - they were like little bits of home from your blog.

TY for visiting my blog. See you soon, xJ

Yup...we got hit last night! It was so pretty wasn't it? I was out in the woods at my in-laws cutting some more boughs when it started. Pretty cool! Love your photos and it does look like the stars!!
