Raggedies Home

I was recently given a gift (from my husband) that had a mention of Worth Gruelle, he was a member of the Raggedy Ann family and had a talent close to his father's, Johnny Gruelle.
Worth and Richard Gruelle were Marcella's siblings, they carried on the stories of Ann and Andy after Johnny's early death at age 57. Johnny's artistic talent was evident through to Joni Gruelle, Worth's daughter. Joni and her husband are credited for creating a project as big as a Ann and Andy museum in 1999. The museum was located in Arcola, Illinois but is now closed only promoting sales from the gift shop over the Internet. Every year in April, Arcola (Ann's birthplace) celebrates the famous redhead with a large festival on behalf of the namesake.
Joni Gruelle-Wannamaker illustrated both pictures featured here, the second photo being the true home of Ann and Andy. If I think about it real hard, we really don't see the home from the outside in any of the stories.....

Very interesting. Love the house, it just seems to spell cozy happiness to me and I guess when I stop to think of it, I would expect no less.

The kids got in on time yesterday and Josh is so excited to be back in Maine and he announced last night "I'm not going back to Florida". I laughed at him and told him he would go back when his vist was over on the 19th. He just said "nope" and walked off. Too funny!
