G I Joe

Back to school today! And gosh! If anything reminds me how quickly kids grow, this is one of them. My son and I started this quilt when he was ohhhh, four.

It's the hero's and the enemy Cobra from GI Joe, one of his favorites. I stumbled across it in storage when I was looking for something else. Must get all my crafts out of storage!

We used fabric transfer crayons, great product! You use them by drawing on paper then iron the back of the paper while it's face down on your fabric. Obviously I had to reverse the writing otherwise it would come out backwards!

I can tell you, my son had a good deal of help, while I did the small work he colored the insignias. If you look closer you'll see.....the coloring is every which way!

Cobra icons.......

My intention (and still) is to block quilt each drawing with the camo being the sashes. Red, white and blue around the outside edge. Babe's too big for this little memory quilt. Maybe the reverse side will be a solid camo and he'll use it that way.

Wondering about the GI Joe's, bet they would do good on EBay. C&G Design.

Now that is a project that has and still is taking time to complete. Like most of my projects... lol...
I like the idea of the camo backside. I think he will really enjoy it and even at a later time of age. But at the rate you are going, you may be able to give it to his first born son... tee hee....

I will be MIA for a bit, headed to TN for some family time and a visit with Tina of course...

Have a good weekend...

Those look just like the blocks I am working on for my quilt, but mine are embroidered. At first I thought these were too. You really have to come visit me! I was in an old antique mall yesterday (I spent ONLY $2.41) and saw a bunch of composite dolls. Also what I think is a Tammy doll for like $5. Could not believe it! It is a mall I have to stay away from but I thought you would like it.

I bet those would really sell on e-bay. G.I. Joe is coming back in fashion. They are even coming out with a new movie soon.

Skeeter- have fun in TN!

Where is mom today?

I happened to catch Martha Stewart and she had a crafter on there who had her own ETSY store. Yeah you got your own!

I was just wondering the same thing. I'll call her in the morning if she doesn't appear tonight.
Yes, I keep checking Esty, I thought my prices were high at first but looking around, I'm pretty cheap! Jack of all trades and I agree....once something sells, alot more will come. Check my views to see which one thing does the best though.

Busy day today but I did read post this morning, just did'nt have time to comment so now I will and then drop into bed as it is late.

I was also thinking as reading it, that it would be a good treasure to hand down to a son of Babe's!!
Go for it, just tell him, not yet!!!!!!

Will be thinking of all the fun you will have Skeeter.
