Old Fashioned Free Pattern

This is a old pattern that dates back a few ages. I thought it would be nice to pass along my ideas and thoughts on "Wheat"

I made a sampler for a friend of mine, she wanted a poem inscribed in thread. This was to be gift given at her sister in laws wedding. My first and only thought was wheat. Wheat symbolizes prosperity. My friend was tickled to see these circled wheat in all four corners of the sampler. I bordered the piece with a rose colored flowered pattern and then a rose color, all with cotton fabric.
At the time....this pillow was the source of my inspiration, I purchased it in a box lot at a antique auction. I had needed to restitch it on another piece of muslin, time had deteriorated it. It came out nice and is one of my favorites.
It also was a quick needlepoint. C & G Design.

So did your friend's sister in law enjoy it and prosper?

Yes, she really liked it. I think she became pregnant after that, so they multiplied!

It is pretty. I like things with wheat, just something soothing about wheat.

I remember a lot of wheat on table runners, doilies, etc in my grandmother’s houses...

Hi guys,
I added a couple of things on Esty this am before I left for food shopping. 4 hours later I have 14 hits on the christmas ornaments! I'm excited about that! It moved to my widgit, those are the popular ones. 2 more people heart me, one is a secret admirer, is that you mother? Just wondering, hope some of them come back to buy.
Leaves are looking good but we have tropical storm Kyle coming in tom. Hope it doesn't bare the trees, I don't think it will, we aren't at peak yet. I want a sunny day to get my shots for the foliage. Veeery pretty this year, cold AND hot are causing wild pigments. And quickly.

How lucky is that! Leaves til Nov....another week and half we will be by peak! Too bad it won't kill the gypsy brown moth, so many trees dieing.
I'm sticking with it, newbies learn as they go along, I thought Esty was simple but nope....gotta keep going instead of being "ready" like I assumed.
I noticed you have me first on the blogroll, I need to update mine and add the ones I comment on. Why do some respond by sending your comment with a relpy in a email?
