Pineapple Spread Canopy Calamity

Those with weakened stomachs might not want to follow along! I didn't exactly enjoy doing what I had to do! But it had to be done.

See the above bedspread? I crocheted it.....it took alooonng time. What I loved about this project is it's portability. Crocheting is a repeat pattern with some basic stitches This spread is basically double crochet on a curve with a few chains then a turn, decreasing one as you go......I think.
Back to the weak stomach, see the bunched up end and the tattered other end? In the first photo? My spread was stored near a floor which got wet......most of the work was saved but I lost one complete row(4 pineapples) on each end! Agh...and double agh. I had plans to convert our four poster bed into a canopy with my spread. I still can, just doing more of what I did. I'm lucky, this wasn't really totally destroyed. I bleached it.......what the heck, it wasn't doing me any good the way it was. Cleaned up well.
This last photo shows what rotted and was soooo easy to snap off, I'm going to need it.....to study it while I take it apart. The 1950's pattern book could not be saved.
Back to the weak stomach thing, I was sick, just sick about it. C & G Design.

Good morning Lola,
It's bleary up here today, I'm going out later to take pic of the foliage.
Crocheting takes awhile, what a breather I took when SOME of it was alright.

You are so multi-talented to crochet something like this. So sorry it got damaged. Have you tried Googling the pattern to find the steps somewhere? Surely you can get that pattern online from some kind of source? Good luck!

Well now that is a heartbreaker but I know as talented as you are, you will figure it out. If not, Tina probably has a great idea to find it on line.

Let us know how it comes out. Such a pretty pattern. I like pineapple designs. Crocheted a table topper & gave it to my dau-in-law. She loves stuff like that. I have an afghan that I crocheted that will cover a regular size bed {made of yarn}. In fact I finished it lying flat of my back. Yee old back problem.
