Rain

Monday, Monday, it did have some... intermittent sunnnnn. But by 3 pm we were back under the clouds getting a lot of rain dumped on us.

The 2 long shot photos will have to be enlarged on order to see the drops falling, ignore the drippy roof rake as my hubby thinks it's a permanent fixture up there.

My driveway flooded rather quickly. Here is the drain, a low spot we created to keep the water away from the foundation.

The water was also rolling down off the hill. My poor goats rue is weighted with moisture.

And look at the haze, the dripping evergreens and mostly likely some things in the garden were trampled again.

My houseplants are getting a nice drink they have never experienced before. What happened to summer?

I hope Sherry from Country wings in Phoenix have enjoyed a few of these refreshing photos and that it made the dessert she lives in a little less hot. C&G Design

Oh Dawn good morning my sweet friend. I can smell the rain, I can feel the breeze. Oh you have remoisturized me, I may make it another day out here in the dry desert. I loved looking at your beautiful home with the side windows open like that. I could have stood there and soaked in the rain all day and been so contented. We had a horribly hot day yesterday and are in for even hotter temps today. My poor flowers are just baked. I have lost most everything. Even watering everyday the heat has just killed so much. I felt wilted myself until this beautiful bath from you Dawn. You have revived me. Thanks so much honey. I hope it is a little drier for your today, but this has been so refreshing for me. Thank you so much for sharing. Country hugs sweety, Friends Always Sherry

Oh Dawn I feel you. It poured last night around 7 PM. Torrential thunderstorm. What has happened to our area that all we get is rain???? Is this the way it will always be? Today the sun is out. I have never enjoyed the sun as much as I have this year. Hugs, Kathleen

I saw all the damage that your area got yesterday on the news last night. Did you guys lose power? A lot up your way did. The lake store and across the lake and the rest area. I love that spot, it is so pretty and I always look forward to seeing that house across the lake and it also had damage. It is so pretty. I wondered if there was a tornado involved and this mornings Maine news is saying some people swear there was. Have to wait for the weather people to verfiy it. That is getting too close!!!!

Kathleen, I hear you in not complaing. Last week in one of the rare sunny and hot days I was digging and moving some plants and thought I would pass out and I hear myself say "OH it is so hot". I then looked to the sky and said "Oh God, I am not complaing, really I'm not". Then I just stood there and laughed at myself.

Hope all is not damaged.

Mom, after the rain the wind picked up and JOAT said many trees were down between the lake store and the pond. It wouldn't surprise me. We kept power but the wind had that feel it does when it goes from humid to cold, real quick!

It has NOT rained yet today in Vermont. The sun is out and I see blue sky! But, in my energy efficient (I call it primitive) home, it is still very humid. I looonggg for some of Sherry's dry weather. And, I will get it! On Monday we will be in Austin for a week. Woo HOO! Sunshine and air conditioning.

On tags, I will make some, but really hope I find supplies to put in my etsy store. Probably will. That should make disposing of the bin go more quickly. I'm not buying ONE thing (okay, maybe glue if I run out) so it will be interesting to see what I come up with for tags. I can almost guarantee they won't look like any others I have seen. What a collection of stuff I have amassed.

You and Lola are sure getting your share of rain this summer. I am happy that you sent me some but I need to be greedy here and ask for some more. We did not get nearly as much as we need! I will be holding my bucket up so let it come on down here....
