I haphazardly took one piece of fabric and stitched it to another. It is relaxing when I can sit at a sewing machine and do whatever. It was so fun doing the different blocks and went extremely quick, random....no plan....no color scheme..... no tight turns on the sewing machine..... stitching and ironing...calling it done.
I finished 9 large blocks in about 2 hours, I would of finished more but Madame had company. I will square these up and then quarter each one, placing them in this pattern , no arranged order.
It looks complicated when it's a smaller, strip quilted block.
Ay, iy, iy, I should get back to the red work quilt especially on these chilly evenings when the blanket could be on my lap.

Looks like your block is gone. It's wonderful.
Love this quilt. You make it sound so simple. For those of us who are sewing machine challenged, it is a struggle. I have tried, and things come out uneven, or short, or not wide enought, ETC. Guess I'll stick to tag books...we all can't be good at everything. Wait a minute...You are!!!!! What a craft goddess you are, Dawn...you have my admiration. Hugs, Kathleen
Along with being a great grafter now I think you have added comedy.
Cute and funny post!!
Whoops, I really should read my comments before posting as I always make typo errors. Not grafter but crafter.
What a fun project and post to boot! You are too funny Dawn... I cannot imagine you sitting still for too long with your crafting projects. I can see how you get sidetracked from project to project with so many bargain finds as at Mardens. I have not heard of Mardens except on your blog but sounds like a neat place to check out when a bit bored! lol... Too many bargains makes for a full craft room though… :-) I think jumping from project to project will keep things fresh and not allow one to get bored too easily with doing one thing. Work a bit here then a bit there and so on...
Oh My Gosh! How fun is that. I love the way it is going to finish out. I am going to have to start paying closer attention to those bags of fabric at my local thrift. The hard part was done, all you had to do was sew. Great project. Thanks for stopping by. Country Hugs, Sherry
Looking great, Dawn. It will make for a fine quilt that anyone would be proud to have.
I was looking through your last posts - I love golden books too! And your quilting, well, it is not one of my talents and so I am, like Kathleen, in awe of you.
Sweetie, TY for coming by. I have my show tomorrow night then things should settle down a bit. You're a doll to take time to come see me when I've been so negligent.
Sending hugs and best wishes for a quick fix! xJ
always in awe with the extent of your activity. isn't it the truth about the chilly evenings? my husband remarked two nights ago as he smelled a wood fire close by that it reminded him of camping in the Adirondacks as a child. we have a few moments of sunshine here and there. the leaves are turning on some trees. i have yet to put flowers out or clean my deck and furniture for the summer. always raining.
Oh God Dawn do I love Mardens!! I love the quilt and the way you put it together randomly....that's my kind of quilting! I just got a quilting book at the local library sale and have found all kinds of neat quilting patterns. I have many projects all over the house Dawn! I think maybe I may have ADD or something?? It sure keeps me from getting too bored though...going from this to that. There is a method to our madness right?? Nice job as usual my friend.
